Dardenne to revamp Louisiana's tourism industry
Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Lieutenant Governor Jay Dardenne announced today he's working to revamp Louisiana's image.
Over the past year, the lieutenant governor's office has been working to find new advertising agencies, and have decided on three separate companies to help promote the Louisiana Department of Recreation and Tourism.
The three companies will have about $5 million to help spread the word about all there is to see and do in the bayou state.
The lieutenant governor says the goal is to stimulate more economic growth.
Dardenne also announced that Poverty Point, which is near Monroe, is being considered by the U.S. government as a United Nations World Heritage site.
