LOUISIANA (NBC33) — The Coast Guard says BP doesn't need to clean up any oil on the Gulf coast. That's according to a plan released today.
Under the agreement, BP would only have to clean up oil if the Coast Guard can prove it came from the Crisis on the Coast.
BP is moving their focus to restoring areas damaged by last year's oil spill. The plan came under fire by the Jindal administration. They say they have concerns over long term monitoring of the coast.
The Coast Guard says about 90 percent of the Gulf coast is now clean.
