City of New Roads holds annual River Rhythms Fest today

The city of New Roads is hosting the 2013 Rhythms on False River live music concert and festival from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. today at Morrison Parkway.

The event will feature live performances by M.J. and the Redeemers, Groove Line (formerly Ad Lib), 5D Band, Mellow Band, Neighborhood Stars and the Chris LeBlanc Band.

Admission is free, and free parking is available. Food and beverages by local restaurants and concession vendors will be available for purchase. Guests are asked to not bring pets or ice chests to the event.

The music schedule is as follows:
2 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. – M.J. and the Redeemers
3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. – Mellow Band
5:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. – 5D Band
6:45 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. – Neighborhood Stars
8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. – Chris LeBlanc Band

“This is the third year for the city to host the River Rhythms Festival. It’s a family-friendly event featuring some of the best bands in the area. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy food, music and fun in New Roads,” Mayor Robert Myer said.
