Christmas Eve fire caused $1-million in damage to local home

An estimated $1-million in damage was caused after an early morning fire engulfed a home on Hoo Shoo Too road. The 6500 square foot home was completely destroyed.

The St. George Fire Department was called to the scene on Hoo Shoo Too Road around 2:00 a.m. on Christmas Eve. When the arrived, fire had spread all the way to the roof of the home.

Two people were inside the two-story home when it caught fire. Both were able to escape unharmed. However, an estimated $1-million in damage was caused by the blaze.

It took firefighters nearly an hour to contain the fire. Investigators are still working to determine the cause. For now, they do not believe foul play was a factor.
