Baton Rouge, La (NBc33) — A trust fund in the state to help pay for child abuse prevention programs was honored today at the State Capitol.
Louisiana's Children's Trust Fund has been around since 1983. Today, leaders from several child abuse programs were at the Capitol talking with legislators.
Some discussed ways to expand, while others simply said thank you.
“We know that it's a budget crunch… but please don't forget the children and families. We've actually highlighted some programs that we want to thank them for their support,” stated LCTF Executive Director Judy Harrison.
She went onto say keeping the fund around is critical to thousands of children all across the state who don't have a voice.
