Lt. Col. Doug Reynolds took command of the Baton Rouge Army Recruiting Battalion on Friday, July 20.

Lt. Col. Doug Reynolds took command of the Baton Rouge Army Recruiting Battalion today with a change of command ceremony.

Reynolds previous assignment was to Camp Smith, Hi. where he served as the Land Operations Planner for the Joint Forces Headquarters. His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with three oak leaf clusters, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster, the Army Achievement Medal with five oak leaf clusters, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal with Star, the Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, United Nations Medal (Haiti), the Joint Meritorious Unit Award with two oak leaf clusters, the Air Assault Badge, the Parachutist Badge, and the Combat Action Badge.

Outgoing commander, Lt. Col. Jose Torres departs for the Pentagon, where he will serve as an analyst for the Department of the Army.

Col. Michael Faruqui, commander of the 2nd U.S. Army Recruiting Brigade presided over the ceremony, which was held at the Renaissance Hotel on Bluebonnet.
