BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — CATS says it's going to wait before asking for a fare hike.
The board announced today it will wait at least a month before trying to change its prices.
It has a plan that would raise fares, while eliminating transfer fees; however, it isn't ready to go before the Metro Council and ask for approval.
"It was tabled and deferred to allow the staff to work up a better and more thorough equity analysis of who was going to be impacted," stated CATS Board President Marston Fowler.
The board also gave the go-ahead for a contract extension for Interim CEO Bob Mirabito.
Mirabito started in June and was given the job through the end of this year. This extension could be a sign that CATS wants him to stay on as the permanent CEO.
