CATS to service Southern University campus

Tonight, CATS has approved an extension of bus service to Southern University.

CATS CEO Brian Marshall says Southern is moving towards a more pedestrian friendly campus. This means more bus routes to and from the university, and he says that could mean more funding in the future.

“Southern could be more of a transportation center there where we could bring buses in from various places,” stated Marshall. “Same way we have a hub at 22nd and Florida… would be essentially the same way we could do Southern as far as a far north hub."

Marshall says he's looking forward to having fewer cars on Southern's campus.
