Starting April 18, 2012, Walgreens will partner with CATS and will sell passes at its Sherwood, Plank Rd, Airline, Government and Zachary locations. Patrons can buy 7 day, 15 ride, and 31 day passes for $19, $24.50, and $56, respectively.

In addition to Walgreens bus passes can also be purchased at the CATS Customer Service office at 2250 Florida Blvd. and Hi Nabor locations (Windborne & Drusilla). The partnership is an effort to make CATS services more accessible to its customers.

“We’re attempting to bridge the gap and make CATS more convenient,” said Vanisia Winston, Community Development Director for CATS, “Walgreen’s stores are strategically located which will make buying CATS passes easier and convenient to purchase.”

CATS is optimistic about the partnership and looks forward to working with more businesses that serve the Baton Rouge community. If your business would like to become a community partner, please contact CATS at (225) 389-8920 Ext. 336

The Capital Area Transit System serves approximately 10,000 daily riders.
