Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Former Tiger Rick Greene is pitching a new way of living for the Baton Rouge area.
The major league pitcher and his charity, the 2 Seam Dream Foundation, is inviting citizens out to the Varsity tonight for food, fun and the first 'friend-raiser' for cancer.
Thursday night’s proceeds will go towards promoting breast cancer awareness.
Sponsor Patrick Coogan says combining a World Series watch party with the foundation’s fundraising is a great way to draw out the crowd and promote awareness.
“It will be a good time to meet the foundation, understand what it's all about and realize that there are preventable ways to address cancer," said Coogan.
The event will cost $17 and starts tonight at 6:00 p.m.
The charity is also hoping to promote their upcoming fundraiser at Alex Box Stadium in January.
