Budget woes cut back prison vocational work programs

NBC NEWS — Programs to help prisoners get jobs when they're released are slowly going away. Budget cuts are forcing prisons to scale the programs back.
The vocational programs have been in prison for years, but in the past several years, they've been cut back 20%.
Some of the state’s biggest prisons are being impacted, such as the Angola State Penitentiary, Elayn Hunt Correctional Institute for Women in St. Gabriel, Avoyelles Correctional in Cottonport, and the C. Paul Phelps Correctional Center in Dequincy.
