On Saturday March 2, the Baton Rouge Police Department will be participating in the 5th Annual Polar Plunge “Freezin’ For A Reason” to support the Special Olympics Louisiana (SOLA).

This event will take place at Cabela’s located at 2200 West Cabela’s Parkway in Gonzales.

SOLA is a state wide organization that changes lives by promoting understanding, acceptance and inclusion between people with and without intellectual disabilities.

The Baton Rouge Police Department is an active supporter of SOLA. Many officers volunteer and participate in activities such as these to aid SOLA in raising awareness and to assist in raising money.

The Polar Plunge is a unique opportunity for individuals, organizations, and businesses to support Special Olympics Louisiana by taking an icy dip in the frigid waters of Cabela’s Lake. The event is open to the public - all spectators are welcome free of charge - so invite your friends to come watch you plunge and then encourage them to get involved. Activities should get started at 9:00 am and there will be events for the entire family.
