BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A Baton Rouge Police officer is in the hospital tonight, getting checked out after a vehicle rolled over his ankle.
Cpl. Don Coppola with BRPD says it started as part of a street operation. One driver refused to pull over, and police gave chase.
While the officer was making the arrest, the suspect's car wasn't properly parked, and rolled over the officer's ankle.
Police say this was not an intentional injury on the part of the suspect.
The officer is expected to be okay.
