Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) —
The Baton Rouge Police Department did nothing wrong when they sold 64 guns to a police and hunting supply store in Lafayette.
An internal investigation of last year's sale, turned up nothing out of the ordinary.
The guns were sold to Barney's Police and Hunting Supplies in 2010 for more than $7,500 in store credit.
Police Chief Dewayne White thought the sale violated current state bidding laws, so he launched an investigation.
As it turns out, former police chief Jeff LeDuff sold the guns under a state law that doesn't mention the bidding process.
