BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A Baton Rouge woman was sent to the hospital yesterday after her home caught on fire.

The Baton Rouge Fire Department was called to Harvey Drive shortly after 4:00 p.m. When firefighters arrived the fire had spread from a utility storeroom to the attic of the home. Investigators believe the fire started in the storeroom, then spread to the carport and traveled to the main home.

A woman was in the home when the fire started. She sustained burns to her face, arms and leg. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The total damage is estimated at $45,000.

Investigators are still working to determine the source of the blaze.
