UPDATED: Monday, March 19, 2012 - 12:04pm

Consolidated Waterworks District No. 1 hereby announces that a Boil Water Advisory is in effect immediately for all areas along Highway 57 and Highway 3011(Grand Caillou Road) and Shrimper’s Row south of the Dulac Elevated Water Tower in Terrebonne Parish. The Dulac Elevated Water Tower is located just north of the Buquet (Falgout Canal) Bridge.

This Boil Water Advisory is necessary due to the required planned and controlled water shut off, that will result in a drop in line pressure, required for the removal and replacement of faulty water valves in our distribution system. The water may be turned back on at the end of the work day at approximately 4:00 p.m. each day and turned off again the next morning at approximately 8:00 a.m. as required to resume work. Valve replacements are currently being made. Water samples will be taken after work is complete in order to conduct laboratory analysis.

Residents within this Boil Water Order Advisory area should boil all water intended for consumption for a period of not less than one minute after the water comes to a rolling boil.

This Advisory is being issued as a precautionary measure to insure the safety of all citizens in the designated area.

The Waterworks District will notify all citizens as soon as this Boil Water Advisory has been lifted.
