Bienville man dies in fire, smoke alarm saves three others
RINGGOLD, LA — State Fire Marshal H. “Butch” Browning released information in reference to a fatal fire that occurred on Dec. 11 at 11:03 p.m. The fire claimed the life of one person.
Bienville Parish Fire District 4 and 5 responded to 629 Boggs Road to a report that a residence was on fire. When firefighters arrived they quickly attempted to rescue the body of Dennis Perry. Despite the heroic efforts of the first responders Mr. Perry was pronounced dead at the scene as the result of injuries sustained from this fire. The home was equipped with a smoke alarm that did properly activate, this aided in the successful escape of a mother and her two children.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire and tragic loss to one life. The fire is currently under investigation and no cause has been determined.
