Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Major changes are set to take effect at airports across the nation, but travelers at Baton Rouge Metro Airport have mixed feelings.
TSA announced a plan that would allow pocket knives with blades less than 2.5 inches long on board; box cutters and knives with locking blades will still be prohibited.
Residents had varying opinions.
"I think that this is ok. I don't have a problem with that,” said Carol Britton-Grant. “I'm sure a lot of thought would have gone into it."
"Knives - I don't think they belong on an airplane,” said Jim Dutcher. “What would you use one for?"
"I would appreciate it, because I have to remember to leave my Swiss Army knife at home every time I fly," said Howard L’enfant.
The TSA says those changes will take effect in April.
