A Baton Rouge man died this morning after he crashed his vehicle into a bull dozer.

The Louisiana State Police reports that the incident happened at roughly 5:00 a.m. on LA 16 at the St. Helena / Tangipahoa Parish line. We’re told the driver, David Fontenot, Jr., 33, drifted off the roadway for unknown reasons, then crashed into the bull dozer, which was parked at the time.

Officials say Fontenot was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the St. Helena Parish Coroner’s Office.
