The benefits of alternative fuel vehicles were on display in Baton Rouge today.

Electric cars, propane trucks and various other alternative fuel vehicles were showcased at the National Alternative Fuel Vehicle Odyssey Day.

The vehicles are more environmentally friendly than traditional vehicles. They're also better on your pocketbook.

“Alternative fuels are a huge answer to our rising gas prices,” stated Lauren Stewart with the Clean Cities Coalition. “Especially with domestically available sources, we have more control over the price stability."

Compressed natural gas costs about a dollar less than regular gasoline.
