In its fifth year, the Bayou Country Superfest is expanding and bringing in some of its biggest headliners yet, including George Strait and Reba McEntire.

"Everybody finds themselves in a win-win situation when you have the type of talent, especially with George Strait, Reba McEntire, and the whole line-up. This says that Baton Rouge is putting on one of the most extraordinary events in the nation," said mayor-president Kip Holden.

A third day means more performers and more country fan dollars spent in East Baton Rouge Parish.

"People will come Thursday, they'll come Friday, they'll stay for the weekend. It will be a major, major growth for the economics for baton rouge for sure," added Quint Davis, Superfest producer and director.

Organizers and city-parish leaders aren't the only ones excited about the resounding economic impact. Five years ago, Memorial Day weekend was a slow one for walk-on's restaurant and bar, now its stocked up like it's an LSU game-day.

"People were leaving town, complete opposite effect in a positive way. Tons of people are coming in town, hotels are filling up, people are looking for places to eat all weekend long now, they're on foot traffic coming from the stadium. It's fantastic," explained Ryan Nizzo of Walk-On’s.

With a star-packed line-up organizers are expecting some of the biggest buzz yet.

"We were building up the hottest festival we could have thinking that that would be our fifth anniversary. then when George Strait fell on top of it, obviously George Strait is too big to put on one of those nights, then the whole thing just kind of blew up," explained Davis.
