Baton Rouge, La — The East Baton Rouge Parish Library will host a a videoconference with Dr. Jeffrey Sachs, author of best-selling books “The End of Poverty: Economic Possibilities for Our Time” and “Common Wealth: Economics for a Crowded Planet” on Monday, February 27, at 6:30 p.m.

Sachs will “visit” the Main Library, 7711 Goodwood Blvd., via a big screen to discuss his latest book, “The Price of Civilization: Reawakening American Virtue and Prosperity,” about restoring America to its original promise, focusing not only on steps to rectify the economic problems the country faces but also advocating a return of virtue and humane behavior in our everyday lives.

This program is in conjunction with Building Common Ground: Discussions of Community, Civility, and Compassion.
