Ascension Parish, La — Ascension Parish President Tommy Martinez announced Wednesday East Ascension Consolidated Gravity Drainage District No. 1 board members will tour and get updates of two major drainage project sites on Friday, March 22.
President Martinez said all press organizations are invited to the drainage projects tour beginning at 10 a.m. at the Henderson Bayou Floodgate located off of LA 931, north of Isaac Villar Road in Prairieville. (Map enclosed).
“These two projects, the Marvin Braud Pump Station and the Henderson Bayou Floodgate, are the largest projects we’ve undertaken in the history of this parish,” President Martinez said.
After surveying the work being done at the new floodgate complex, board members will travel to the Marvin Braud Pump Station for an overview of a new pump installation and additional pump stall location. Marvin Braud Pump Station is located on LA 3140, southeast of the Town of Sorrento.
“This is a good opportunity to see the progress of these two major projects,” said Ascension Parish Councilman and EACGDD No. 1 Chairman Randy Clouatre. “The Henderson Bayou Floodgate project has been years in developing and is now becoming a reality. The improvements to the Marvin Braud Pump Station are much needed capacity improvements and will enhance the reliability and performance of the pump station as a whole.”
