Alligator Bayou Road to close for up to three months

ASCENSION PARISH, LA — UPDATE: Officials with East Ascension Gravity Drainage District No. 1 announced today that Alligator Bayou Road in Ascension Parish will be open for through traffic at 4 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 11.
Bill Roux, drainage director with EAGDD No. 1, said work is continuing on the Frog Bayou Lock located on Alligator Bayou Road, but through traffic may commence at 4 p.m.
ORIGINAL: Alligator Bayou Road will be closed in Ascension Parish beginning Monday, July 30 at 8:00 a.m. to repair a floodgate there, parish officials said.
Crews with the East Ascension Gravity Drainage District No. 1 will be repairing the Frog Bayou Floodgate, said Director Bill Roux.
Roux said there will be no access between Iberville Parish and Ascension Parish via the Alligator Bayou Road while repairs are being done. Work is estimated to take 60 to 90 days.
