Passengers in and out of the New Orleans Airport will be able to get through airport security a bit faster due to a government pre-screening program that’s being expanded to more airports in the U.S.

The program identifies people who travel many miles each year and asks them if they want to sign up for the TSA Pre-Check Program.

It would allow them to go through airport security quicker.

In some cases, they will not have to take off their shoes and belts or remove laptops out of their luggage.

Federal officials are not saying what specific criteria flyers will have to meet to be invited into the program.

New Orleans is one of 28 airports that will see the program later this year.
