Afternoon fire destroys Baton Rouge home

BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — The majority of a home burned down today and caused an estimated $60,000 worth of damage.
The Baton Rouge Fire Department reports that a home on Avenue A caught fire shortly after 2:00 p.m. One of the residents of the home noticed the blaze when he was outside in the front yard. Officials say the blaze started on the side of the house.
Officials say the fire was burning so bad when they arrived that the flames extended out to the street.
So far investigators have not yet determined a cause.
