East Baton Rouge Parish, La (NBC33) — Here are the details of the property tax, which has been proposed by the state, to help fund the Capital Area Transit System.
Nearly 11 million households would be affected by the property tax.
It would bring in around $18 million to CATS.
Here's an idea of how much of an increase people will see: owners of a $100,000 home will pay a little more than $100 a year.
It's about a 30 percent tax increase, according to the East Baton Rouge Tax Assessor.
