18-wheeler catches fire after early morning accident
ZACHARY, LA (NBC33) — An 18-wheeler caught fire after an early morning accident in Zachary. The road was shut down for several hours while crews worked to extinguish the blaze and remove the truck.
The Louisiana State Police say the driver was going to fast when he entered a curve on Hwy 64. That’s when he lost control and wrecked the tanker, which was carrying crude oil. Thankfully, that did not catch on fire, but the diesel fueling the vehicle was sparked and caught fire.
The driver was not hurt, but traffic was diverted for several hours.
