Law enforcement freezin' for a reason
GONZALES, LA ( NBC33) —
It's time to go freezin’ for a reason. Area law enforcement officers show you how the polar bear plunge is done.
La. State police Trooper Russell Graham not shy about how shockingly cold the water is outside of Cabela's in Gonzales.
Graham along with other state and local law enforcement officials frolicking in the frigid water today, all to promote the upcoming polar bear plunge.
"That water is certainly colder than it looks,” says Graham. “You know the guys who jumped in before me jumped in and didn't make any noises, didn't make any sounds probably because they couldn't. I tell you when i hit that water it was cold."
"It's fun, it's crazy and it's something fun to do and not many people are willing to do,” says Pat Carpenter Bourgeouis with Special Olympics Louisiana. “So get your friend and your family and come on out and join these law enforcement officers."
