Latest details on George Zimmerman murder trial
NBC NATIONAL NEWS — The back and forth between prosecutors and the defense intensified inside the courtroom today as the testimony centered on the crime scene.
Lead detective Chris Serino returned to the witness stand as questions continued to center on multiple statements George Zimmerman made to police after he shot Trayvon Martin.
During questioning by Prosecutor Bernie De La Rionda, Serino told the jury he thought Zimmerman: followed Martin after being told not to and profiled the teenager.
Serino said Zimmerman's account of the position of Martin's body was not consistent with how police found it after the shootings.
The defense went back on the offensive during cross examination, pointing out the police dispatcher asked at least two times about where Martin might be.
As the case moved forward the state called an outside Medical Examiner to the stand, who was appointed to review evidence in the case.
The technical aspect of the crime scene and injuries will likely giveaway to the emotions of this case in the next few days when Trayvon Martin's parents are expected to testify.
