The largest-ever litigation involving the U.S. Government is scheduled to start Monday in New Orleans.
Six plaintiffs filed suit against because of catastrophic flooding following Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The plaintiffs claim the Corps of Engineers should be held liable for failed levees in 50 locations.
The non-jury trial is expected to last three weeks and feature testimony from high-ranking army corps officials and renowned experts on coastal flood protection.
