For many today, it's goodbye to crowded malls and hello to the Internet.
Almost a hundred million Americans are expected to take their wallets online today.
Ellen Davis of the National Retail Federation said, "For the retailers who are trying to get as many sales this holiday season, they really don't care where you shop, they just want you to shop with them."
Black Friday's bargains did lure in shoppers. More people came out to shop than last year, but on average spent less as they looked for bargains.
"You gotta save money in this economy. If you can save a few hundred bucks on this computer, a few hundred bucks on that TV, it all makes it worth it for a day or two, definitely," said one shopper.
Unlike mall stores, web retailers may already know what bargains get your attention.
Show a pattern of using coupons or free shipping, and it's Retail 101, experts say…you get the deal.
Regina Lewis, AOL Consumer Advisor said, "If you never take advantage of free shipping, if you don't use coupons, I'm not going to serve them up to you. If you do take advantage of that stuff, sign up for newsletters, become a FaceBook fan of the retailer and have in technology terms, that stuff pushed to you."
Half of online retailers surveyed said promo deals will go out by email today.
