I-12 eastbound reopens after 13 hour closure

This is an NBC33 Update: 12:05 PM – All lanes are open I-12 east at the Amite River Bridge. The queue from this incident has reached Airline. The Traffic Management Center is monitoring this area until traffic returns to normal.

DENHAM SPRINGS, La. (WVLA) A late-night wreck on eastbound I-12 near the Amite River Bridge is to blame for massive traffic problems Wednesday morning.

Denham Springs police say around 11 PM Tuesday 3 big rigs and a car crashed. They say one of the 18-wheelers overturned.

Officers say they're still investigating what caused the accident.

The farthest up the interstate you can go from the 10/12 split is the O'Neal exit right now.
There is some good news---no serious injuries have been reported.

6:21 AM – I-12 east remains closed to traffic at the Amite River Bridge, due to an accident. Traffic is being diverted onto O'Neal with a queue reaching Millerville. Denham Springs police on scene have estimated an open time of 11:00 AM. The Traffic Management Center is monitoring this incident and will advise of any changes.
 

4:57AM – I-12E remains closed to traffic at the Amite River Bridge, due to an accident. Traffic is being diverted onto O’Neal. There is no queue from this incident. The Traffic Management Center is monitoring this incident and will advise of any changes.

1:10AM – I-12E is closed to traffic at the Amite River Bridge, due to an accident. Traffic is being diverted onto North Airline Highway. The queue from this incident has reached O’Neal. The Traffic Management Center is monitoring this incident and will advise of any changes.

11:52PM – I-12E is closed to traffic at Amite River Bridge, due to an accident. Traffic is not passing at this time. The queue from this incident has reached O’Neal. The Traffic Management Center is monitoring this incident and will advise of any changes.
