UPDATE: Both directions of I-10 open between Baton Rouge and Lafayette, 2:58 pm Saturday

UPDATE: At 2:58 p.m. Saturday, state officials report that all lanes of Interstate-10 are open. The Interstate-49 diversion has been removed.

 

PREVIOUS: UPDATE 5:40 AM 5-3-14: 5:40 AM - I-10 remains closed to traffic in both directions at LA 975 (Whiskey Bay) due to an accident on I-10 East.

Westbound traffic is being diverted at LA 415 (Lobdell), to US 190 West.

Eastbound traffic is being diverted at I-49 (Detour I-49 North to US 190 East).

In addition, all previous congestion was diverted to the Basin Bridge crossover I-10 East between MM 127 and MM 135.

The Traffic Management Center will advise of any changes.

UPDATE: I-10 is closed to traffic in both directions at LA 975 (Whiskey Bay) due to an accident on I-10 East.

Westbound traffic is being diverted at LA 415 (Lobdell).  Eastbound is being diverted at Breaux Bridge.

The queue from this incident has reached approximately six miles in both directions.

The Traffic Management Center will advise of any changes.
