BATON ROUGE (NBC33) — If you pass by the corner of Third and Florida Streets in downtown Baton Rouge, one iconic sign may come to mind - the old Coca-Cola sign. Now, Baton Rouge Coca-Cola plans to restore the old sign.
The company says it will spend $20,000 on the restoration.
The sign has been there since the 1940's, when it was used as a marketing tool right after World War II.
The sign is also rare, with only a couple like it left in the country.
"We're seeing a great renaissance going on right now, and what can be more fitting than the iconic Coca-Cola sign coming back to life. So we're so excited about that," said Davis Rhorer of the Downtown Development District.
The sign will stay in its current spot, on-top of the future site of Raising Cane's.
