The Gulf State Attorney's General are warning everyone filing for a claim to think twice before doing so.
The group says they have a problem with one of the rules from the Gulf Coast Claim Facility. Earlier this week, the facility said anyone wanting a final payment would have to waive the right to sue.
Now the Attorney's General want to make sure everyone asking for final payment aren't short changed.
Maximum payments for individuals is $5000. It's $25,000 for a business.
The Attorney's General say if you think your damages are more than that - don't ask for a final payment and don't sign the waiver.
