So, who wouldn’t want to be included in an alumni list that includes singer and guitarist John Mayer, co-creator of South Park Trey Parker and songwriter Jeff Bhasker who won the Best Rap Song award for “All of the Lights” by Kanye West, Rihanna, Kid Cudi, and Fergie?

One lucky 2013 graduate of St. Amant High School is headed to the famous Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA., and in a few short years will be added to that list.

Troy Bourgeois is the son of Tyra And Dana Bourgeois. Bourgeois has spent years playing the drums and singing in church, his high school band and with friends.

Bourgeois’ father was his inspiration growing up. His dad plays drums in popular local group Hai Karate, so the environment of a musician has come easily for him.

Berklee has 4447 students and only accepts 1000 incoming freshman. After taking part in a summer program, “Summer Shot,” at the Musician’s Institute in Hollywood, Bourgeois is looking forward to excelling in a further music related curriculum.
