Parkview Baptist school jump rope team wins two Grand World Championships

The PBS Heart N Soul Jump Rope team recently competed in the World Jump Rope Championships in Orlando.

Competitors represented five continents at the event. All PBS team members, listed below, placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in their age division events at the competition.

• Courtney Eades (PBS '12)
• Josh Eades
• Emily Hebert
• Caylie Jordan
• Kyle Lambert (PBS '13)
• Tori Lambert
• Samantha Marshall
• Stephanie Marshall
• Valerie Williams

Several team members scored high enough in age division events to qualify for the overall world championship playoff on the last day. Of these, PBS won two Grand World Championships.

Overall Grand World Champions were:
• Valerie Williams, Josh Eades and Samantha Marshall in double dutch
• Valerie Williams and Samantha Marshall in pairs wheel

Second places in Grand World Champions included:
• Courtney Eades, Valerie Williams, Samantha Marshall & Caylie Jordan in female single rope team freestyle
• Valerie Williams, Kaylee Couvillion, Josh Eades and Kyle Lambert in open double dutch pairs freestyle

Several members of the team were selected to be part of the international teaching staff for the World Jump Rope camp which followed the competition: Staff Leader, Kaylee Couvillion, and Teaching Staff, Courtney Eades, Kyle Lambert, and Valerie Williams.
