Saturday, hundreds of people went downtown to show some "pride."

The 2014 Pride Fest kicked off this afternoon inside the Atrium at the Belle of Baton Rouge.

Pride Fest is an annual celebration of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered community in Baton Rouge. It was lively this year, with plenty of live music, entertainment, food and booths to check out.

Organizers say it's for the whole family, so everyone can enjoy it.

"We bill this as something everybody can come to. I jokingly say a lot of times that you can bring everybody from your kids to your grandmother. They're going to find something to do. They're going to have a good time, but that is the kind of atmosphere we want to offer,” said Tom Merrill, Chairman of Baton Rouge Pride Fest.

Congratulations to our own Joe Gutierrez, who was crowned this year's Mr. Capitol City Pride.
