He’s an artist from Baton Rouge and he’s taking the nation by storm.

Jacob Zumo has been painting for less than two years and now he’s making huge strides in the art world; he’s been hired to paint some world renowned artists at the 2013 Video Music Awards.

"As a creator it’s such a blessing to just wake up a think creatively and think of new cool things to do. It’s just a dream, man," he said.

Paint, canvas, brushes are some of the simple tools an artist needs to create. Zumo uses his tools to do much more than just paint.

"There is a lot of evil and a lot of bad going on in our world and I have a great opportunity to touch people change peoples minds in ever avenue of life."

His art is being recognized by people across the nation, keeping him busier than he could have ever imagined.

"Kind of going with the flow - not much sleep,” noted Zumo. “I try to paint as much as I can and stay sane."

He’s heading out to New York to paint among some of the biggest celebs.

“I’ll be painting Pink, Janelle Monet and Nervo with are two twin DJ's.”

It’s a huge step that could help his career sky rocket even faster than it already has.

What makes it so special? Why is his work so different? In less than five minutes, what started out as an empty canvas is a simple yet amazing work of art.

Here in Baton Rouge, Zumo is doing what he can to improve each day and build the career he’s always dreamed of.

"The busier I stay the more lucky I get,” said Zumo. “All of these opportunities as of late have graduated me to a bigger level."
