Students at Bains Elementary threw a big party for a special little boy.
NBC33 had the opportunity of meeting James Walker, Jr. or J.J. last year.  March 24th was his last day of chemotherapy treatment.  He was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor when he was just 8, and people with this particular tumor aren't expected to live more than a year. However, after some time at St. Jude Children's Hospital, he's doing fine.  He received special visits by the Superintendent, the high school football team and cheerleaders, law enforcement, even his "big brothers" on the Southern University Jaguar football team. High school cheerleaders even gave him a special cheer.  All those present, including his fourth grade classmates, released balloons for him. His mother Denise says she's thankful to God and that her son is "a little warrior. "
