Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Celia Dawson turned 105 years old this week.
St. Clair Manor threw a birthday party for her Tuesday, and her granddaughters and great-great-granddaughters joined her.
Dawson lived on her own until she was 101 years old, and said keeping her nose out of other people's business is what has helped her live such a long life.
She also jokes about how young she is.
"When I reminded her that her birthday was coming up and she was going to be 105, she said, no, she couldn't be, she must've been in her 80's," her granddaughter, Lolita Boykin, said. "But we were able to show her that was 105, and she was like, 'okay, I'm going to be in the newspaper.'"
St. Clair Manor has experience throwing big parties like this; it currently has four residents who are at least 100 years old.
