16 Slidell officers receive LA Veterans Honor medal

Slidell Police Chief Randy Smith and U.S. Congressman Steve Scalise honored 16 Slidell Police officers who received the Louisiana Veterans Honor Medal.

The Louisiana Veterans Honor Medal was established as a way to honor, recognize, and thank Louisiana Veterans for their honorable military service.

The medal is available for all Louisiana Veterans who were honorably discharged and to the families of those who were killed in action.

The Medal comes with ribbons to distinguish honorable service: Purple Heart, Prisoner of War, and Killed in Action.

One Slidell Police officer, Sgt. Eddie Lamulle, received a Purple Heart ribbon, in addition to the honor medal.
