GOHSEP public assistance briefings

NBC33-GOHSEP — The Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness host applicant briefings this month for damage sustained during Tropical Storm Lee. On October 28, 2011, a major disaster was declared for Tropical Storm Lee which impacted Louisiana September 1-5, 2011 (FEMA-DR-4041). This declaration allows for the reimbursement of Categories (Emergency & Permanent Work) "A-G" work under FEMA's Public Assistance (PA) Program. This meeting is for public entities and private-nonprofits eligible for public assistance. If your organization sustained damage(s) and/or cost(s) associated to the event, you are encouraged to have a representative attend an applicant briefing. The briefing will provide essential information to your organization on the FEMA PA Program, especially information on the eligibility requirements, required documentation and rules and procedures necessary for expense reimbursement of eligible expenses. The parishes declared eligible are: East Feliciana, Jefferson, Lafourche, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Charles, Terrebonne and West Feliciana.

Any applicants within these parishes who intend to seek reimbursement under this disaster declaration will need to submit a new Request for Public Assistance (RPA) at www.louisianapa.com.
To submit a new Request for Public Assistance (RPA) for Tropical Storm Lee:
1. Log on to http://www.LouisianaPA.com
2. Click the link titled Submit New RPA (DR 4041-Tropical Storm Lee)
a. Existing applicants;
i. Will click the Login to your Account link
ii. After login, click the Submit for a New Disaster link in the Quick Links box on the right of the screen.
iii. A New Disaster Box will open.
iv. In the Copy From field leave on Choose One to start with a blank RPA or select the disaster which contains the RPA to be copied.
v. In the New Disasters field select the new disaster
vi. Click Start New RPA
b. New applicants;
i. Will click <="" Access="">.
ii. Complete registration.
iii. If you are a PNP you will check off this selection and fill out the PNP questionnaire. PNPs are required to submit the following information with their RPA: Tax exempt certificate and organization charter or by laws. These items can be scanned and attached to your RPA.
