Rain threatens Fred's on the River

High water caused road closures all over the Capital Area, but the flooding isn't only worrying drivers.
The rain has forced some businesses to shut down, especially ones located near major waterways.
It’s a scary thought for the folks at Fred’s on the River. The popular bar on the Amite River was a target of Mother Nature’s wrath last year. Hurricane Gustav’s whipping winds ripped half of the building right off.
Staff there believes the rushing Amite has the potential to be just as dangerous.
“Gustav got us from the top and this one could possibly get us from the bottom" says Brenda Guillory a bartender at Fred’s.
Guillory is hoping the rains subside soon because if the river’s water level raises a few more feet, the popular restaurant may have to shut its doors.
