We have an update on the effort to keep eight East Baton Rouge schools out of the state recovery district.

According to an attorney, the state has agreed not to take over four of those schools. Parents and teachers filed a lawsuit after education officials voted to place several buildings into the state recovery district, because of low test scores.

Attorney Jay Augustine said the decision comes after a cost analysis.
