Faculty Senate: "No confidence" in Chancellor
SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY (WVLA) - Tough news for Southern Chancellor Kofi Lomotey -a group of faculty members want someone new in the position.
Lomotey has been the chancellor for 2 and a half years; but in a vote Thursday night - 15 of the 19 members gave Lomotey a vote of "no confidence". They say Southern's fallen behind in enrollment, fundraising and hiring.
They say the University needs changes before things get worse.
The vote now goes to the Board of Supervisors. They'll vote on whether or not to renew Lomotey's contract later this month.
We tried to get a comment from Southern - they declined.
