Essen lane construction closes road, effects local businesses
BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Construction crews continued to work on the railroad crossing on essen lane on Sunday. The road between the rail road track and I-10 will remain closed through the night and re-open at 5 am monday morning. Drivers should follow the detour signs or use the Blue Bonnett exit on I-10 instead of the Essen lane exit. The road closure has effected some local businesses in the area but as long as it isn't a regular occurrence, business owners don't have any issues.
"It's made it a little more steady. The continuous flow is not as busy as it should of been but it wasn't a big hit either. People are going to want to get their sushi so you know," said Joshua Liu, general manager of Sushi Masa.
