A brand new piece of art at Glen Oak Park Elementary.

Students got to show off their masterpiece today. The students unveiled this 300-pound mosaic. It's so heavy because it's made of glass and concrete. It took a long time to finish, nearly six months. It's hard work, but students and teachers said it's worth it.

"It was cut in parts, and they had to put it back together like a puzzle, and uh to see it come together was really really exciting," said art teacher Fannie Brown.

"They just boost them and take them to another level, and when you see a kid smile and when you see this masterpiece behind me completely done and knowing that these little hands actually played a part in something that's going to be at this school forever," said Kathy Victorian, who works for Amerigroup.

Amerigroup donated $500 to go toward supplies and everything else the kids needed for the project.
