WEST BATON ROUGE PARISH, LA (NBC33) — Good news for the West Baton Rouge Parish school district. The Department of Health and Hospitals has named the district asthma-friendly.

It's only the fifth district in the state to get that designation. It comes as the school is working with the medical community to increase asthma awareness and adopt asthma friendly policies.

The disease is the third leading cause of death for kids under 15 years old.
